Direction to IPI (Institute for
Plastics Innovation)
From Logan Airport
Take the Sumner Tunnel to Boston from Logan Airport. At
end of tunnel take second right up ramp. Bear left on to Rte 93N and continue
with direction to IPI from East.
From the East
Take Rte. 93 North to Exit 46. Follow Rotary back
under Rte. 93 and proceed West on Rte 110. You will be on the North bank of the
Merrimac River. Follow this road always staying on the North bank of river
until you enter Lowell (about 8 miles). (staying in the left lane) At the third
set of traffic lights (Federal Carpet will be on your right, the river and
bridge on your left). Take a left onto the Aiken Street bridge. The second
building on the left is the Institute for Plastics Innovation (small dark brown
brick, 333 Aiken Street) (978) 934-3445.
From the South and West
Take the Lowell Connector towards Lowell
Center. Take Exit 5N - Thorndike Street - and head north into downtown Lowell.
You will go through traffic lights, under a rotary, and bear around to the right
on a four lane road (two lanes per side). At the traffic lights at the end of
the four lane road- You will see a Hess Gas Station on your left hand side. You
must bear slightly to the left through the lights and continue forward on a four
lane road to the end. The Tsongas Arena will be in front of you. Turn left onto
another four lane road (staying in the right hand side) and continue to your
second right. At the stop sign take a right. Turn right onto Aiken Street (a two
lane road). The IPI is the building on your right (single story brown brick).
(It is across the street from Fox Hall - The tallest building in Lowell and the
new Student campus center).
